The federal government, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have reached a deal for the Chignecto Isthmus. Upgrades to dikes that protect the low-lying strip of land could cost hundreds of millions of dollars. The provinces have each agreed to pay a quarter of the cost and Ottawa will pay half.
