5 years later: Reflecting on the lasting impact of COVID-19 in Quebec
March 11 marks five years since the COVID-19 pandemic changed life in Canada. The virus claimed more than seven million lives worldwide, including over 21,000 in Quebec. While vaccines and public health measures have evolved, the effects of the pandemic linger, from ongoing staff shortages to questions about preparedness for future health crises. Dr. Lucie Opatrny, now president and executive director of the MUHC, played a key role in Quebec’s pandemic response. We spoke with her about what’s changed and whether we’re ready for the next crisis.
