Jimmy Carter’s six-day funeral observances begin
Six days of funeral observances for former U.S. president Jimmy Carter began on Saturday in Georgia, where he died on Dec. 29 at the age of 100. Proceedings began around 10:15 a.m. ET with the Carter family arriving at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, a small city about 17 kilometres east of Plains.
