A year of relatively cheap fill-ups will come to an end on Wednesday, when the provincial gas tax returns after a one-year holiday. On Jan. 1, a 12.5-cent tax will be added to the cost of a litre of gas, still less than the 14-cent tax Manitoba's government suspended a year ago.
