Alex Decoteau fought in the First World War and died in battle in Belgium in 1917. A group of Canadian dignitaries recently travelled to Belgium to honour him for National Indigenous Veterans Day. Corps Sgt. Major Christa Laforce is with the Edmonton Police Service. Decoteau was a sergeant with the force.
