The Liberal Party of Canada will announce its new leader — and Canada's next prime minister — Sunday evening after a six-week sprint following Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's announcement that he plans to step down from his role once his successor is chosen.

The contest comes down to four people: former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney, former finance minister Chrystia Freeland, former House leader Karina Gould and former Liberal MP Frank Baylis.

CBC News will bring you the announcement from Ottawa beginning at 4 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. AT and 5:30 p.m. NT. Here's how you can follow the coverage:
