American Idol champ and singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips was catapulted into the spotlight in 2012, but he's revealing a bit more of himself with his latest single, Raging Fire.
American Idol champ and singer-songwriter Phillip Phillips was catapulted into the spotlight in 2012, but he's revealing a bit more of himself with his latest single, Raging Fire.
"This [upcoming] album will be a lot more mature, not just lyrically, but musically as well," he told CBC News during a recent stop in Toronto, part of his current cross-Canada tour.
"It's just more me."
In the attached video, Phillips talks to CBC's Laura Thompson about his new album, how Idol affected his career and advice he'd share with struggling musicians.
Having played the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario, Phillips continues west through Canada this month, including dates in Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.
