Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are up Schitt's Creek
The Canadian comedy team is back together in a new show premiering Jan. 13 on CBC-TV
SCTV alumni Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are teaming up in the highly anticipated comedy, Schitt's Creek, premiering on CBC Television this January.
The filmed-in-Canada comedy series stars Levy as a filthy rich video store magnate, Johnny Rose, who finds himself suddenly broke and forced to move his spoiled family to Schitt's Creek — a small, depressing town they once bought as a joke.
O'Hara plays his soap star wife Moira. His hipster son, David, is played by Levy's real-life son, TV personality Daniel Levy, who also co-created the show. Annie Murphy plays their socialite daughter.
Since getting their start together on SCTV in the 1970s, Levy and O'Hara appeared in a number of Christopher Guest films, including Waiting for Guffman, For Your Consideration, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind.
The original half-hour scripted show debuts with a special one-hour premiere on CBC-TV on Tuesday, Jan.13, featuring two back-to-back episodes beginning at 9 p.m. (9:30NT).
