A 51-year-old man has been arrested by Windsor police in connection with a kidnapping investigation.

The police said officers were called to the 1700 block of Marentette Avenue for a report of an assault, just before 12:30 a.m., on Monday. At the scene, they found a male victim bleeding from the lip.

Further investigation led the police to determine that the victim and the suspect had what police called an "ongoing disagreement."

The suspect picked up the victim in a vehicle "under the pretence of further discussing the matter" and drove to a home in the 1400 block of Lincoln Road, the police said.

Police said the victim was dragged toward the house, assaulted and threatened. The victim escaped while the accused was distracted.

He had minor injuries, police said.

Police found the accused at his home and arrested him. He has been charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault and uttering death threats.
