Transit Windsor is apologizing to the Catholic school board after several of its buses forgot to pick students headed to school for year-end exams.
Pat Delmore of Transit Windsor called it a "scheduling error" and assured the board buses will be available after school to drop students off.
"We probably added some additional stress to them on a day that they needed to write an exam and we recognize that and are certainly apologetic for that," adds Delmore.
Catholic School Board Spokesperson Steve Fields says a significant number of students were affected by the mix-up.
Some students get extra study time
However, the stranded students aren't being let off-the-hook from writing their tests.
Most students who arrived late were given extra time to make up for the loss, but 10 lucky students will get a few more days of study time.
"We have a turn-around day and that's Thursday. So anybody who missed their exam today as a result of the scheduling mix-up will be able to write their exam on Thursday," explained Fields.
