Police investigating death of Leamington senior as homicide, OPP say

Ontario Provincial Police say they are now investigating a sudden death in the municipality of Leamington as a homicide.

Ontario Provincial Police say they are now investigating a sudden death in the municipality of Leamington as a homicide.

Members of the Essex County OPP and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services found an 83-year-old woman deceased after responding to a well-being check at a residence on Sherk Street on Wednesday, the force said in a news release Friday.

A post-mortem conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service concluded homicide was the cause of death.

Police say they are looking for a person of interest in connection with the investigation.

Investigators believe this to be an isolated incident.
