OPP investigate infant death in Point Edward, near Sarnia, Ont.

Lambton County OPP are investigating the death of an infant in Point Edward, near Sarnia, Ont., over the weekend. 

Police say first responders attended a St. Clair Street home just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday for a report of an unresponsive infant. 

The infant was transported to hospital and pronounced dead, OPP said in a release Monday evening. 

The crime unit of Lambton OPP is investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and provincial forensic pathology service. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
