Cyclists in Windsor can make quick bike repairs on the go, now that six parks have been outfitted with "fixit" stations.

The stations have a pump, a stand, and an assortment of tools to be used free of charge whenever the parks are open.

Funds for the stations came from CUPE Local 82 and ward funds from Councillors Rino Bortolin and Chris Holt.

Some units were installed this week at Jackson Park, Optimist Memorial Park, Great Western Park and the Riverfront near Caron Avenue, while Willistead Park and Mitchell Park will have installations at a later date.

Councillors Bortolin and Holt will be at the Optimist Memorial Park location at 1:00 p.m. Friday for a demonstration.
