Everything you need to celebrate Canada 150 in Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia regions
Fireworks will be lighting up the skies in Essex County and Chatham Kent
From a celebratory cake on Windsor's waterfront to birthday beach bashes along the shores of Point Pelee, there are plenty of Canada Day festivities throughout many southwestern communities this weekend.

Fireworks are planned for many cities, including Sarnia and Chatham as residents celebrate the country's 150th birthday.
Windsor
The day kicks off with the citizenship ceremony at Adventure Bay, starting at 9 a.m.
The Canada Day parade starts at 11 a.m. and runs west along Wyandotte Street from Devonshire Road to Glengarry Avenue. The fun continues at the Riverfront Festival Plaza with a community singing of Oh Canada at 1 p.m. followed by cake cutting at Festival plaza.
A Canada 150 Sound and Light show will be held at the Capitol Theatre. Showings are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with two more on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Chatham
The Cogeco TV Canada Day parade starts on King Street at 10 a.m. with live bands later performing at Tecumseh Park. At noon there will be plenty of food dished up at the Dickens Pickwick Picnic held at Milner Heritage House.
More celebrations are scheduled at the Evangel Community Church. Check out the live music, children's games and barbecue fundraiser.
Sarnia
Canatara Park is home to all the daytime action, starting at 11 a.m. Live entertainment and a host of food booths will be going until 4 p.m. Then the activities shift to Centennial Park at 6:30 p.m. for celebration cake and more entertainment.
The day will wrap up with fireworks at 10 p.m.
Amherstburg
The town is hosting the bulk of its festivities at Fort Malden National Historic Site, starting with the popular 5 km Canada D'eh run in the downtown at 9 a.m.
Then it's a full day of free activities at the park that include musket firing, live entertainment, pony rides and other animal shows.
Over at Toddy Jones park, the Amherstburg Ice Cream Festival is back this year.
Fireworks along the shoreline of the Detroit River will cap off the night. The light show is scheduled for 10 p.m.
LaSalle
The town has timed the grand opening of its new splash pad and accessible playground with the country's birthday bash.
Officials will also unveil the town's Canada 150 Mosaic Mural. Other festivities including live music performances, a Canada-themed magic show, food and refreshments. The fun goes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Tecumseh
A full day of activities are planned at Lakewood Park, starting with a singing of Oh Canada, followed by the Spirit of Four Directions.
The day also has live music, and plenty of games, crafts and free cupcakes.
Lakeshore
Family activities and fireworks will be held at Libro Community Centre in Millen Park. The festivities go from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Kingsville
A birthday cake ceremony starts at 11 a.m., followed by a host of activities, including horse drawn carriage rides, the Scouts BBQ, train rides and science shows.
Leamington
The Canada Day Parade starts on Erie Street at 4 p.m. Live entertainment at Seacliff Park, starting at 6 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 10:05 p.m.
Point Pelee
In addition to a park-wide scavenger hunt, there are plenty of other parties at several sites.
Birthday cake and barbecue treats will be dished up at the Canada Day Bash on Northwest Beach. Everyone can let their creative side shine as the visitor centre is transformed into a craft centre.
The park will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Harrow
A full evening of activities, including a barbecue and historical display, are planned at the Harrow Fairgrounds, starting at 4:30 p.m. Fireworks will cap off the night at 10 p.m.
