A swath of southeastern Ontario, including much of the Greater Toronto Area, is under a winter weather travel advisory for Friday afternoon and evening.

Environment Canada is warning that heavy snow will fall in that period, with low visibility and changing road conditions affecting the Friday afternoon commute.

A total of five to 10 centimetres is expected in all.

The weather agency has also issued snowfall warnings for central Ontario and part of northern Ontario, including Kawartha Lakes, the Muskoka area, North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie.

In those regions, total snowfall accumulations are expected to be closer to 15 centimetres.
