Father, 11-year-old son dead after Scarborough crash between motorcycle and vehicle, police say
Fatal collision happened in area of Kingston and Manse roads Thursday evening, police say

A father and his 11-year-old son died on Thursday after a collision between the motorcycle they were riding and a vehicle in Scarborough, Toronto police say.
Police and paramedics received reports of a serious collision in the area of Kingston and Manse roads at about 6:20 p.m., according to Duty Insp. Brian Maslowski, spokesperson for the Toronto Police Service.
When officers arrived, they found that a silver Nissan and a red Honda motorcycle had collided, he said.
The father, 47, who was operating the motorcycle, died at the scene. The 11-year-old boy, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was taken to a trauma centre, where he died of his injuries.
"Obviously, it's very traumatic for all involved," Maslowski told reporters near the scene.
The 68-year-old driver of the silver Nissan remained on scene and is co-operating with police.
Maslowski said the silver Nissan was northbound on Manse Road, trying to make a left turn to go westbound onto Kingston Road, when it collided with the motorcycle that was southbound on Manse Road. The collision occurred in the middle of the intersection, he said.
Police are looking at all possible factors that could have led to the crash, Maslowski said.
Officers were reconstructing the crash on Thursday and road closures were expected to be in place for several hours on Thursday night.
Anyone who was in the area at about 6:20 p.m. is urged to come forward to police's traffic services unit.
