Police are investigating a death in the Town of Caledon.

Officers responded Monday to a report of a deceased individual in the area of Chinguacousy Road and King Street, the Dufferin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

An autopsy is planned for Tuesday to determine the identify of the person and the cause of death, OPP said.

"The OPP does not believe there is a risk to public safety as investigators do not consider this to be a random incident," the release said.

"Residents in the area will continue to see an increased police presence."

The crime unit of the Dufferin OPP are leading the investigation, with the help of other OPP branches and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, the release said.
