2 male teens injured in shooting in Toronto's east end
Emergency services were called to Cosburn and Pape avenues just after 9 p.m.
Two teenagers were injured in a shooting in the city's east end Thursday night, Toronto police say.
Just after 9 o'clock, emergency services were called to Cosburn Avenue and Pape Avenue following reports of about three gunshots in the area.
Two males, believed to be in their late teens, were found at the rear of a building, police say, and are in serious, but stable condition in hospital.
Toronto police Insp. Darren Alldrit said the victims were both shot in their torso area.
Investigators are looking for a male suspect who was seen running away after the shooting. They say the suspect may have fled through people's backyards, but no description was available.
Alldrit said police don't know yet if the suspect and the victims know each other, or if the shooting was targeted.
Alldrit said dogs were brought in to conduct a search of the area.
