Prince Arthur's Landing condos occupied by next summer: developer
Thunder Bay residents will likely be living in condominiums on the waterfront at Prince Arthur's Landing by next summer, according to the developer building the condos and a hotel.
Tower 1 should be occupied by August of 2014, the second tower by the fall, says Gisele MacDonald, president of ReSolve Group Inc.
"The building is going up as we speak. We have finished all of the piles for both Tower 1 and Tower 2, and, actually, I would say 95 per cent completed the piles on the hotel," she said.
"Actually, if you go down to the waterfront right now, you will see [the progress]."
MacDonald said Tower 1 is almost sold out, while Tower 2 is about half sold.
She says the majority of the buyers are from Thunder Bay.
"We're very pleased with the sales at the waterfront. Tower 1, we are approximately 88 per cent sold out, and Tower 2, we are 52 per cent sold. We're talking sold. We've received final deposit cheques. So they are absolutely sold," MacDonald said.
"I wouldn't say there is a typical buyer for the units. It is really a lifestyle choice. These are not just for upscale buyers," she said.
