Ontario Provincial Police confirmed two people are dead following a plane crash at Red Lake.

The OPP's Underwater Search and Recovery Unit found the bodies of 58-year-old Brenda Beauchene and 59-year-old Jim Beauchene Saturday night.

Both were residents of Phoenix, Ariz. They were enroute to a tourist camp north of Red Lake Thursday evening, when their float plane crashed into a channel between Cochenour and Mckenzie Island shortly after takeoff.

Police divers found the bodies Saturday evening in the plane's wreckage at the bottom of Red Lake.

The OPP and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are still investigating.
