An older adult centre in downtown Sudbury is expanding and opening a second location.
The Parkside Centre offers a variety of activities, but not everyone can make it to the downtown location.
Now, a new satellite location is opening in Valley East in Greater Sudbury.
“We had been hearing for years about the demand for a centre … somewhere in the valley,” John Richer, manager of The Parkside Centre said.

He said it's located in an old school that’s been converted into a community centre. The building is owned by a church that’s allowing the centre to rent some of its space.
Richer said so far, the feedback has been positive.
“Everybody thinks it’s a great idea,” he said.
The centre offers a variety of activities for older adults, including crafts, computer classes and health and wellness seminars.
