Pryvit! Sudbury's annual Canadian Garlic Festival celebrates 25 years
Garlic perogies, garlic cabbage rolls — even garlic ice cream. The scent of all things garlic will be wafting out of downtown Sudbury this Sunday with the 25th annual Canadian Garlic Festival.

Things to know
- Entry is $2 per person, with festival proceeds going to support the Ukrainian Seniors' Centre and various other charities in Greater Sudbury
- Greater Sudbury shuts down the two northbound lanes in front of St Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church for the festival
- Gates open at 10:00 a.m., food fair begins at 11:00 a.m.
- Volunteers prepare thousands of garlic "nibblets" for purchase, including 700 dozen perogies and fresh cabbage rolls
- The garlic used in the food is locally grown
- Singers and dancers will entertain the crowd from about 11:30 a.m. until after 4:00 p.m.
- According to a release from the festival, "children can enjoy arts and crafts, inflatable bouncing games, races and challenges"
- A celebratory 3' x 6' cake will be cut at 1 p.m. to mark the 25th anniversary of the festival
