Saskatoon cyclist dies after collision with vehicle: police

A woman is dead after a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle in Saskatoon. Police say they are still investigating the nature of the incident at 22nd Street W. and Avenue K N.

A woman is dead after a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle in Saskatoon.

Saskatoon police say officers responded Sunday night at around 8:45 pm CST after a report of a collision at 22nd Street W. and Avenue K N.

Police found a woman laying on the ground suffering from life-threatening injuries upon arrival. She was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police say they believe the cyclist was eastbound in the westbound lanes of 22nd Street W. and that the vehicle was travelling in the far-right westbound lane.

Traffic restrictions were temporarily in place after the incident.

Police are still trying to identify the woman and are asking anyone with information to contact police. 

The collision analyst unit is still investigating the nature of the collision, police say.
