Saskatoon teen pleads guilty to manslaughter in death of Dylan Phillips

A 15-year-old Saskatoon boy pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old Dylan Phillips. Two other accused are still facing first-degree murder charges.

A 15-year-old Saskatoon boy has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death last year of 26-year-old Dylan Phillips.

Phillips was beaten with a fence board and then shot at his home on Avenue G North on Oct. 14, 2016. Two other accused are also charged with first-degree murder.

The teen cannot be named because of his age.

The boy was originally charged with first-degree murder, committing murder for the benefit of a criminal organization and two counts of assault with a weapon.

The teen was sentenced to three years. Two of those years will be served in secure custody, with the third under supervision.
