Saskatoon clothing company makes it to the Super Bowl
MEE Sports will be making the jackets for the Denver Broncos cheerleading team
A Saskatoon clothing company will be getting some face time during the 2016 Super Bowl 50.
"After the Denver Broncos beat New England and made it to the Super Bowl, the next day we had a call from the head cheerleading coach asking if we could produce jackets for them," said Peter Wills, operations manager for MEE Sports in Saskatoon.
"They were concerned that there would be rain in San Francisco, where the Super Bowl was being held this year."
The company has been around for 29 years and has only been involved in creating cheerleader clothing for the past seven.
"It's really become our niche market," said Wills.
MEE Sports have also made clothing for the likes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.
"All of the designs are our own unique design that we create for all of our clients," said Wills.
He said everything is also produced and sewn together in Saskatoon.
This will be the second time the company's clothing will be featured during a Super Bowl game. According to Wills, MEE Sports produced jackets for the Seattle Seahawk's cheerleaders, the Sea Gals, the year the team won.
"Seattle did win the year they were wearing our jackets, so we like to feel we're good luck," said Wills.
