Sask. RCMP cancel dangerous person alert after man located

Police say a 24-year-old man has been taken into custody after he was found in a rural location near Loon Lake, Sask.

Saskatchewan RCMP have cancelled the dangerous person alert they issued for a 24-year-old man after he was found and taken into custody.

Police issued an alert at 10:25 a.m. CST Friday regarding a man with a gun. They had previously said a woman was potentially being held against her will at Island Lake First Nation, which is about 290 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.

In an update sent at 3:15 p.m. CST Friday, police said the man and woman were both found in a rural location near Loon Lake.

The woman is safe, police said, and the man was taken into custody.
