Female human remains found: Saskatoon police
Her identity has not been released, more details to come on Friday
Saskatoon police say the remains of a female have been found. Neither the identity of the victim nor the location of the remains have been revealed.
The police issued a release with few details. It said the Saskatoon police received information on Nov. 10 which led to the discovery of the remains.
The officer of the Chief Coroner, forensic anthropologist Ernie Walker, the RCMP cold case major crime unit, the Corman Park Police Service, the SPS major crime unit and the missing persons unit were involved in the excavation.
The remains were recovered on Nov. 14. An autopsy has been conducted, and both the major crime unit and the missing persons unit have been working to "determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death."
The police said they did not notify the public so they could continue their investigation.
The female's identity was confirmed by DNA testing but her name will not be released at least until the family has been notified.
The police will have more details on Friday.
