Rural politicians say plastic grocery bags cause pollution and they want them banned.
Members of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities passed a resolution this week calling on SARM to lobby the Saskatchewan government to ban the sale and use of the bags.
SARM was holding its mid-year conference in Saskatoon this week. The two-day conference ends today.
SARM members also passed resolutions in favour of establishing a muskrat control program and a drug-testing-in-workplace policy for municipal offices.
