The Brackley Drive-In, on P.E.I.'s North Shore, attracted the most cars in a Maritime-wide competition over the weekend, but the IWK Health Centre was the biggest winner.

The competition, which also includes Nova Scotia's Valley Drive-In and New Brunswick's Neptune Drive-In, is an annual fundraiser for the regional children's and maternity hospital.

Winning the friendly competition is good for business, says Bob Boyle. (CBC)

While fundraising is the main purpose of the competition, Brackley Drive-In owner Bob Boyle told CBC News there are benefits to being number one.

"Having bragging rights is great. We joke about it all summer long when we're on the phone to each other," said Boyle.

"It actually helps when we get movie selection. Because we are number one it does make a difference."

The Brackley Drive-In counted 879 vehicles over the weekend. Valley Drive-In had 840, and Neptune Drive-In about 500.
