Charlottetown Airport recorded 26.2 cm of snow Tuesday, and the storm hit harder in other parts of the province. In West Prince, the blizzard warning was only lifted at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. Almost all highways in the province are snow covered or partly snow covered. Intersections in Charlottetown are difficult to navigate.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Queens and Kings counties.
Provincial government offices are delaying opening, as are many businesses. All Holland College centres are closed for the day, but classes at UPEI are going ahead.
There are still issues at Charlottetown Airport. The early morning flight to Toronto was cancelled, and the first flight from and to Halifax, scheduled at 9:20 and 9:35, are 40 minutes late. Traffic is running normally on Confederation Bridge, but the bridge has issued an advisory of possible restrictions around 1 p.m. with a forecast of stronger winds.
