2 charged after shots fired at Heatherington Road home
Police seized a 9-mm handgun during the Sunday morning arrest
Ottawa police have arrested and charged two men after shots were fired at a home on Heatherington Road Saturday morning.
Police received calls about a man firing shots around 10 a.m., according to an Ottawa Police Service news release.
By the time they arrived, the suspect had fled the scene. Officers found shell casings nearby and bullet holes in the building's walls and windows.
No injuries were reported.
Around 1 a.m. Sunday, police found a vehicle they suspected to be connected with the shooting.
After searching the vehicle, officers found a 9-mm handgun, police said.
Two Ottawa men, both 30, were arrested and have been charged with several weapons-related offences including careless use, handling or storage of a firearm, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace, and possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without licence or registration.
