Rideau Canal Skateway to reopen Sunday morning
The skateway shut down on Feb. 24 in order to preserve the ice surface through a few days of warmer weather. The National Capital Commission says a stretch between Rideau and Bank streets will reopen 8 a.m. Sunday.

The Rideau Canal Skateway will reopen to skaters between Rideau and Bank streets at 8 a.m. Sunday, the National Capital Commission says.
The popular winter attraction closed on Feb. 24 to preserve the ice through a stretch of warmer weather.
Temperatures in Ottawa are expected to remain below freezing until Tuesday, when they could rise slightly above zero, according to Environment Canada.
Last week, the NCC's Bruce Devine said he expected the skateway would stay open for several more weeks once it reopened.
