Police seek witnesses to fatal collision on Innes Road

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking witnesses after a serious collision in Orléans on Tuesday left one pedestrian dead and another in critical condition.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is seeking witnesses after a serious collision in Orléans on Tuesday left one pedestrian dead and another in critical condition.

A vehicle struck the two adult pedestrians on Innes Road between Tenth Line Road and Portebello Drive shortly after 2 p.m., OPS said.

Investigators want to speak with anyone who saw the collision or may have dashcam footage of the incident, police said in a followup statement on Wednesday. 

One of the pedestrians died of their injuries at the scene while the other, a woman, was taken to hospital and is in critical condition, according to the OPS. 

Video footage taken by Radio-Canada shows debris and a downed pole at the intersection of Innes Road and Orchardview Avenue.

Three people from the vehicle were taken to hospital for assessment, the paramedic service added.
