The dog was found at 7:30 a.m. ET Friday by shelter staff members as it roamed along Route 303 in the Municipality of Pontiac, according to a news release.

The recovery will be long and difficult for the dog, named "Treize" by the shelter because it's lucky to be alive and was found on Nov. 13. Treize is thirteen in French.

Treize can only eat a few tablespoons of food at a time because its stomach can't support any more food intake, the release said.

The SPCA is now looking for a host family as well as financial help due to the long list of tests now necessary to keep the dog alive.

Treize suffered muscular atrophy, was heavily dehydrated and needs several appointments in the near future, the news release outlined.

If anyone has information about the dog, you are asked to call the SPCA at 819-205-2908. People can also attend the shelter in person to give donations or go online.
