Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers in Halifax were left without electricity after a car crash late Monday.

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers in Halifax were left without electricity after a car crash late Monday.
The company's outage map showed 12,105 customers without electricity as of 10:30 p.m. Monday. Power was restored to most customers by 5 a.m. Tuesday.
The outage, which began around 9:30 p.m., extended from Melville Cove near the Armdale roundabout to Purcells Cove, Cowie Hill, Spryfield all the way to Ketch Harbour and West Pennant.
While the outage map did not provide information about the location of the crash, emergency vehicles were parked along the Old Sambro Road near Long Lake Provincial Park on Monday night.
