Nova Scotia RCMP say they have recovered a pickup truck reported stolen Friday evening, as well as the puppy who was inside.

Police initially posted on social media just after 8 p.m. Friday asking the public to help find a seven-month-old Bernese mountain dog and red 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab that was stolen from a property on Highway 311. The theft was reported around 6:30 p.m. Friday in Central North River.

But in an update posted at 10:15 p.m., police said both the truck and dog had been found.

"Good news! RCMP officers have located the stolen vehicle and the Bernese Mountain Dog," read the post.

"The puppy is safe and sound!"
