More testing needed to ID body found in woods

RCMP have been unable to identify a body found in the woods outside Dartmouth earlier this week.

RCMP have been unable to identify a body found in the woods outside Dartmouth earlier this week.

The forensic identification team needs to do more testing, the RCMP said in a short news release Friday.

Officers discovered the body of a man late Wednesday afternoon about five metres from Upper Governor Road in North Preston. RCMP said the next day that he was a victim of a homicide.

The site where the body was found is about a kilometre away from where Sergei Kostin's burned cab was found in January. Kostin, 40, was last seen on Jan. 17 when he was sent to pick up passengers on Gaston Road in Dartmouth.

RCMP said investigators hope the forensic testing needed to identify the body would be done by early next week.
