A 15-year-old boy and 23-year-old man are both facing charges of first degree murder, accused of stabbing Daniel Michael Pellerin to death.

Three days ago, police arrested the 15-year-old. Police say at the time of his arrest he was carrying marijuana and a handgun.

He cannot be identified because of his age.

The boy is appearing in Nova Scotia Youth Court on Spring Garden Road in Halifax.

The second man facing charges, Trevor Hannon, was arrested in Dartmouth on Saturday. He appeared in court in Dartmouth Monday morning.

Officers say Pellerin's killing was not a random act.
