Nova Scotia Native Women's Association not giving up hope Denny will be found

The Nova Scotia Native Women's Association is trying to help find 23-year old Chrisma Ann Joy Denny of Eskasoni.

The Cape Breton Regional Police say she was last seen at the Eskasoni band office on Sept. 11.

Cheryl Maloney, president of the Native Women's Association, will arrive in Eskasoni today.

"Last night it was really difficult for me, it's not just another Aboriginal woman, any one in Nova Scoita and we've gone through a lot lately that's gone missing. It leaves families with so many unanswered questions and families need emotional and spiritual support also,"said Maloney.

"It's very difficult, so I know that the community is going to be going through a lot of emotion and we're just hoping we can help in any way."

There will be a vigil for Denny in Eskasoni Monday night.

"After that we will actually get down to work on a postering campaign and how we can distribute province wide and things that we're unfortunately experienced at doing," said Maloney.

Maloney hopes putting posters up across the province will aid in finding Denny.

Denny is five feet six inches tall, 145 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with knowledge about Denny's whereabouts is asked to contact the Cape Breton Regional Police or the RCMP.
