Yukon photographer Minnie Clark knows how to quietly keep her distance and still capture some incredible shots: 'Packed up the telephoto lenses and hiked into one of the creeks and spent a whole day watching a young family enjoying the wild flowers,' she wrote, submitting this photo to our CBC Yukon Facebook page. In Arviat, Nunavut, Madeline Issakiark's 9-month-old, Hazel Rae, certainly got into the Canada Day spirit! Canada Day celebrations took place across the territories this weekend. (submitted by Madeline Issakiark)
Might be a little too hot for this big guy! Barb Hart snapped this great shot of the local wildlife while driving near Fort Smith, N.W.T. (submitted by Barb Hart)
An inukshuk stands guard on a beautiful evening in Igloolik, Nunavut. This shot was sent to us by Hailey Amaaq. (submitted by Hailey Amaaq)
An amazing dusty sky, along with a little local wildlife, in this photo from Heidi Stiles. 'We live in Beaver Creek (Yukon) and have to commute to Whitehorse for groceries, but when you get to have great wildlife experiences like this one, it makes for an easy commute!' (submitted by Heidi Stiles)
Across the ice and far away... Karen Kitekudlak sent us this shot of her father, Joseph Kitekudlak Sr., walking the ice to his cabin, west of Ulukhaktok, N.W.T. (submitted by Karen Kitekudlak)
We get a lot of sunset shots submitted each week, but few are as breathtaking as this one from Otooyaq Arnayuinak, in Arviat, Nunavut. (submitted by Otooyaq Arnayuinak)
Whitehorse photographer Maggie Leary generously shares a peek into the bald eagle's nest she has been keeping an eye on this summer. 'They are getting very active and taking up a lot more space in the nest. In this pic, one is eating what looks like some fish.' (submitted by Maggie Leary)
Rainbow skies. Lori Atta took this beautiful shot at the airport in Aklavik, N.W.T. (submitted by Lori Atta)
