Trial date set in Iqaluit murder case

Jeffrey Salomonie was charged with first-degree murder in June 2011 in the death of Daisy Curley.

A trial date has been set for a man charged with killing a woman in Iqaluit four years ago.

House 1631 in Iqaluit's Happy Valley subdivision was cordoned off on May 25, 2009, while RCMP investigated the death of Daisy Curley, 33. A trial date has been set for Jeffrey Salomonie, who is charged with the killing. ((CBC))

Jeffrey Salomonie was charged with first-degree murder in June 2011 in the death of Daisy Curley.

Curley, 33, was found dead inside her Iqaluit home in May 2009.

Seven weeks has been set aside for the judge and jury trial.

It will start on Feb. 2, 2015.
