Team Nunavut has scratched from a 3,300-kilometre snowmobile race out of Labrador City, N.L.

The only team representing the three territories scratched from the Cain's Quest, after reaching the second checkpoint in Goose Bay, N.L.
Twenty-nine teams are competing in Cain's Quest, an annual race in Labrador. It's considered the longest race of its kind in the world.

At stake is a $100,000 purse, including $50,000 for first place, $30,000 for second and $20,000 for third.

That purse won't be coming home to the North though; team Nunavut, the only representative from the three territories, scratched Saturday, after reaching the race's second checkpoint in Goose Bay, N.L.

The team included Iqaluit's Jason Aliqatuqtuq and Jimmy Noble Jr., both considered avid outdoorsmen and snowmobilers.
