N.W.T. RCMP investigating suspected arson, shots fired in Fort Resolution

Police said they received a call at roughly 4:30 a.m. Monday about someone firing shots near a home on Rental Road. When they arrived, they found someone had apparently attempted to set the home on fire.

No suspects yet, say RCMP, as investigation continues

RCMP in Fort Resolution, N.W.T., say they are investigating what they believe to be an attempted arson, as well as shots fired in the community.

Police said they received a call at roughly 4:30 a.m. Monday about someone firing shots near a home on Rental Road. When police arrived, they found someone had apparently attempted to set the home on fire.

"No injuries were reported as a result of this matter and the fire was extinguished quickly with minimal damage," the RCMP said in a news release Tuesday.

RCMP say they don't have any suspects yet, but believe there are witnesses who know what happened.
