Iqaluit thieves steal potentially lethal veterinary drugs
Police concerned people may try to use them or sell them
A safe containing drugs that are potentially deadly to humans has been stolen from an Iqaluit veterinary clinic, say RCMP.
The safe, as well as some money, was taken during a break and enter at the clinic over the weekend.
"We'd like to make the public aware that this is out in the public somewhere," said Sgt. Yvonne Niego, spokesperson for Nunavut RCMP.
She added that police are concerned the people who stole the drugs may try to sell them or use the drugs themselves.
"I believe there were several [drugs] were common to veterinary clinics," she said.
Those medications are meant for animals and could be lethal if used by people, police say.
