2 sentenced in Woodstock beating death
Two men have been sentenced to 10 years for manslaughter in connection with the beating death of a Woodstock man.
MacKenzie Sharpe, 22, and Jason King, 29, both of Hainesville, were sentenced todayin connection withthe death of Shawn (Budgie) Tomah in May 2006.
Eachreceives 26 months credit for time served since being charged,which leaves seven years and 10 months remaining on their sentences.
Tomahwas found on the sidewalk beneath an open second-storey apartment window in downtown Woodstock. The trial heardhe had been beaten repeatedly in the apartment.
A third man, Richard King, 33, has been found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with Tomah's death. King is to be sentenced on June 15.
A fourth man, Jason Crawford, 30, of Wicklow, is charged with obstruction of justice and with being an accessory after the fact. His trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 15.
