A man in his 50s was fatally crushed by a semi-trailer truck in the yard of a Laval metal recycling business on Sunday, police confirmed.

The incident occurred near AIM Recyclage Laval, which is located in an industrial area in the city's Saint-François neighbourhood. The victim was declared dead at the scene.

Quebec's workplace safety board, the Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST), is investigating the incident.

Laval police were still at the scene at the time of publication.

The circumstances of this accident are unknown.
