Montreal police have arrested a suspect in connection to a series of armed robberies at liquor stores in the city's east end.
Police picked up the 32-year-old man Tuesday night at the corner of Ontario and Frontenac Streets.
Seven outlets of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) have been held up since August 10 by a thief who used pepper spray and knives.
SAQ employees at east-end outlets were on high alert after their stores were robbed, and the workers' union said anxiety levels are high.
Police say the man may be connected to at least two other robberies.
The suspect is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
