Quebec robbery leaves woman paralyzed
A 58-year-old liquor store employee was shot during the robbery Monday at a Société des alcools du Québec outlet on Morgan Road in Baie d'Urfé.
Police say two suspects carrying guns walked into the liquor store at around noon.
Police released surveillance video on their website. Watch here. |
The victim was at the back, "alone in the business, and one of the suspects basically fired in the direction of the victim, and she was injured," said Const. Yannick Paradis.
The suspects fled without stealing anything, Paradis said.
Their exit was recorded by a surveillance camera, footage that police have now released in a bid to identify the suspects.
It was more than 20 minutes before a customer entered the store, discovered the unconscious victim and called an ambulance.
Her injuries were extensive, Paradis said.
Police are looking for two male suspects, about 25 years old. One was wearing an orange coat, dark jeans, a grey hoodie and dark gloves. The other has stubble on his face, and was wearing glasses, dark gloves and a camouflage jacket with the word MECCA on the back.
The pair may face attempted murder charges, Paradis said.
Both were speaking English.
