Montreal police made a dramatic arrest Sunday of five people wanted in connection with a murder at a flea market parking lot in the city's east end.

A 25-year-old man died after being shot several times in the St-Léonard area just before 5:30 p.m. Five suspects in the homicide attempted to flee the scene on a city bus.

Police intercepted the bus shortly after and arrested three people on board, plus two others who tried to escape through the back doors.

Police said the victim was known to police. The death is Montreal's ninth reported homicide in 2007.
