80-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle in Quebec City
Police are investigating the collision which occurred outside a shopping centre
An 80-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle on Sainte-Foy Road in Quebec City on Tuesday afternoon, police say.
Quebec City police were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls at 12:13 p.m., states a news release.
The pedestrian was transported to hospital in critical condition. Police later announced his death.
A perimeter was set up to preserve evidence, and investigators, along with forensic identification technicians, were on the scene reconstructing the events leading up to the collision, which occurred outside a shopping centre near the Fortelles Avenue intersection.
Since November, at least three pedestrians have died after being hit by motorists in Quebec City.
